brass Debuts New Website: The Money Side of Life

From the brass editorial desk:

Hi Everyone!

We have exciting news! We're switching things up with a brand new website, The Money Side of Life at moneysideoflife.com (MSOL). It's replacing the brass|BLOG and will have daily content about money's impact on our lives. Here's how we describe it:

Money isn’t the purpose for living, but it affects every aspect of our lives. It’s the connecting thread that weaves through everything from revolutions reshaping the Arab world to how much is left in our wallets for Friday’s happy hour.

College Application Week on the brass blog

This week we're featuring a special event on the brass blog: College Application Week. We'll share resources and tips all week long to help your students polish their college applications, including a giveaway from our editors. Send your students over to brassmagazine.com/blog to join in!

In addition to this event, the brass blog is an ongoing resource for students, featuring:

  • Timely posts in an easy-to-digest size, published three times weekly
  • Money-saving tips, college and career information, and need-to-know current event news

New look for the new school year

Notice anything different about the Student Program website? We hope so! The brass team has been hard at work over the summer, and we are proud to introduce you to the completely redesigned Teacher Resource Center. Along with the new look, the site now features the following:

  • New resources: to accompany each issue, we have added a vocabulary list and smaller, one-class activities. These join the project-based lesson plans, discussion questions and videos that we’ve always offered.

Student Program Spring Wrap-Up

It’s been a busy spring for the brass|STUDENT PROGRAM. Here’s a recap:

March
Student Program Director of Education Laura Edmonston and Director of Communications Matt Neznanski joined Oregon representative Sara Gelser, to testify on behalf of the resolution she introduced to designate the month of April as Financial Literacy Month. House Concurrent Resolution 2 passed out of committee after a unanimous vote and was later adopted by the House.
