Recent studies have shown young adults, specifically high school students, are lacking the skills needed to make sound financial decisions. A 2008 Charles Schwab survey entitled "Parents & Money" revealed only one in three parents (34%) has taught their teen how to balance a check book, and even fewer (29%) have explained how credit card interest and fees work. Sponsors work directly with brass to promote financial literacy in public high schools across the state and advance the cause - helping young adults better prepare for the future by understanding the money side of life™.
